After a great breakfast at the Yeatman, we met our guide Joana and head to the other side of the river to central Porto. Our first stop is the Cathedral of Porto, which was constructed in the second half of the 12th Century and is located in the center of the city. The structure is a center of activity, with a large courtyard behind the main structure overlooking the Douro River.

Our next stop is the central market place, which is Porto’s supermarket with lots of interesting things to buy and people to photograph. On our way we passed the old Trolleys that are still in service today.

The final stop of our quick tour is Lello Bookstore which was made famous as a favorite hangout for J.K. Rowling author of Harry Potter. She did no writing in there, however it has become a huge tourist attraction.

It’s back to our hotel for relaxation by the infinity pool and a glass of wine. That evening we went by cab to restaurant Vinum overlooking the river and city. Excellent dinner and spectacular view. Our time in Porto was too short but tomorrow we travel up the Douro River.
